“DEPENDS ON THE SECOND LETTER” ~ Steve Job

Bonakele Zungu, born and raised in Inanda, (North of Durban, KZN), is a visionary leader and advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities. Her new journey and chapter began in 2005 when a car accident profoundly changed her life. Despite the challenges she faced, Bona’s story is not defined by her disability but by her remarkable abilities and resilience.

Embracing her new reality as a person with a disability was initially fraught with emotional turmoil, including anger, depression, and fear. However, her faith and determination led her to overcome these obstacles, finding strength in the belief that “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strengthens.” – Philippines 4:13.

She acknowledges her mother as her prayer partner, best friend, and unwavering support. “I give God all the glory for what He has done for me, as I am a living testimony of His grace and mercy. Through many difficult times, God used my mother for spiritual counseling. In my moments of pain and weakness, I found Christ as my Lord and Savior. I am profoundly grateful to God for my family’s support, love, and prayers, as I am truly a product of prayer. Where many see challenges, I see opportunities to overcome daily as a person with a disability. Every day, I thank God for my life, for through my limitations, I learn of Christ’s love and God’s goodness. He is ever faithful to me. The accident could have driven me away from God, but instead, I ran to Him for refuge, strength, and comfort for my broken heart. In the secret place of His presence and the shelter of His unconditional love, I wept my way to the throne of grace. The Holy Spirit comforted me, and I found His sustaining grace. Through my healing journey, I realized that God’s grace is sufficient. Every day, I fall into the hands of the living God.”
